(Valencia, CA; July 10, 2015) Star Trek: Axanar is a groundbreaking, feature-length fan film that proves that a studio doesn’t need to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to produce a Hollywood quality production.
Executive Producer Alec Peters today announced the launch of an Indiegogo campaign to raise production funds for the feature film which is scheduled to shoot in Los Angeles in November of 2015 with a tentative release in spring/summer of 2016. The 30-day campaign is aiming to raise $250,000.

AXANAR will be the first non-CBS/Paramount produced Star Trek to look and feel like a true Star Trek movie. The film recounts the story of Garth of Izar, the legendary Starfleet captain featured in the STAR TREK episode “Whom Gods Destroy.” This prequel film takes place twenty-one years before the events of “Where no Man Has Gone Before,” the first episode of STAR TREK to feature Captain James T. Kirk
The cast includes Hollywood actors like Richard Hatch (Battlestar Galactica), Gary Graham (Star Trek: Enterprise) and Kate Vernon (Battlestar Galactica, Heroes).
The crew now boasts several Oscar and Emmy winners including Production Designer John Iacovelli, best known to Sci-Fi fans for his work on BABYLON 5; Visual Effects Supervisor Adam Howard, a pioneer in the visual effects industry; and Senior Sound Producer Frank Serafine (“The Hunt for Red October“). The film will be directed by Robert Meyer Burnett, well known for the 1999 award-winning cult favorite FREE ENTERPRISE, and producing and directing dozens of genre documentaries.
Here’s a sneak peek of the first scene completed from the upcoming feature-length AXANAR feature film, detailing Fleet Captain Kelvar Garth’s decisive victory at the Battle of AXANAR, which marked the conclusion of the Four Years War with the Klingon Empire.
