Ajay Kumar, writing for iDigitalTimes, reports on the initial success of AXANAR’s latest Indiegogo campaign, launched during San Diego Comic-Con.
At San Diego Comic-Con fans of Star Trek got to see the first trailer/sneak peek for Star Trek AXANAR, a fan-made independent feature film. The film is the first professionally made non-CBS and Paramount Star Trek movie.
“ The film recounts the story of Garth of Izar, the legendary Starfleet captain featured in the STAR TREK episode “Whom Gods Destroy.” This prequel film takes place twenty-one years before the events of “Where no Man Has Gone Before,” the first episode of STAR TREK to feature Captain James T. Kirk.”
The goal of the crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo HERE is to raise $250,000. As of the publishing of this article 2,783 people have contributed $242,641 in the past 10 days. There are 24 days to reach the $250k goal, so by all indications it should be successful.
